Saturday 1st September 2012 saw the return of the richest prize in UK match angling.

The 2012 Mega 'Match This' event was staged again with a tremendous amount of support and enthusiasm from all who took part. £50,000 was paid out to a very worthy winner in Les Thompson, who qualified for the final from Boldings Pools in Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

The 2012 Grand Final also paid out an extra £5,000 to Maver's Ian Giddins and last year's winner, Andy Power, also received £3,000 finishing in third place. In all, a total of £64,000 was paid out, including £6,000 divided between the top three teams from the first ever Mega 'Match This' Team Championship on Sunday 2nd September (not shown on DVD).
