Weekend commencing Saturday 29th September saw the Adlington Angling Centre ‘Cock O’t North Tip Tournament’ take place at Upper Rivington and Anglezarke Resevoir near Chorley, Lancashire. The two day event saw a total of forty (40) anglers compete for a winners prize of £1,200 with cumulative weight over the two days (not points) deciding the overall mainframe finish.
The openeing day of the competition saw anglers pegged at Upper Rivington reservoir before moving onto Anglezarke for day two. It turned out to be a relatively low weight affair following a very tough opening day with both Anglezarke and Upper Rivington not producing as expected. However, this made for a very close match going into the second and final day.
Below, Englang Ladies International, Emma Pickering, reflects on what was her third major feeder final in as many weeks:

Emma had her trusty mascot with her over both days but, unfortunately on the occasion, she didn’t bring Emma any luck
“I fished the Adlington Angling Centre Cock of the North final over the weekend and, unfortunately, it did not quite go to plan. I was hoping for a third time lucky having already got both the Preston Feeder Masters and NuFish Feeder King behind me“.
“I took Cadie along with me for this one and she was amazing all weekend. The opening day of the competition saw me draw peg 10 on Rivington, which was the right dam to be on. I managed to catch six (6) skimmers and a few bits for 4lb 10oz, which saw me finish half way down my section”.
“The opening day of the competition fished relatively hard with only 12lb winning the day. However, day two meant a change of scene at Anglezarke and a chance of some bream“!
“Day two saw me stationed on peg 6a, which I thought was going to be a good draw. Turns out I had drawn the wrong wall and wanted to be on the other side as this is where the bigger weights are recorded from. I had five pulls for 5lb“.
“I was a little disappointed with the overall result to be honest. That said, a huge well done to Andy who runs the event – it’s growing each year – and to all the framers“.
“The last two weeks has been crazy for me fishing in three amazing finals. It’s made me want to come back and try and qualify for next year already“.
“The experience and knowledge I’ve gained is unbelievable. A huge thank you to everyone who wished me good luck for these finals and for the support from my sponsors Maver UK as they have been awesome in getting products to me to make sure I was prepared“.
